Summer in the City
Posted: Thursday, May 27, 2010
Well the AVIA Wildflower Triathlons are over and it was a great weekend. I want to congratulate all of you who finished the race. You are all winners.
Now that May is almost over it is time to start planning your summer training and events. I want to remind you that Tri-California has a “summer in the City” planned. San Francisco is one of the most beautiful cities in the world and we are privileged enough to be able to offer events there.
On May 30th we have the Alcatraz Challenge Swim from Alcatraz Island to the Presidio. It is a new event and great for those not wanting to bike or run.
On July 10-12th we will be presenting the San Francisco Triathlon at Treasure Island. This year’s event will again feature the ‘Biggest Loserwave’ featuring former NCB hit show Biggest Loser contestants competing to continue their lifestyle journey. Join more than 20 contestants including: Matt and Suzie Hoover, Pete Thomas, Coleen Skeabeck, Blaine Cotter, Dane Patterson, Heba Salama, Ed Brandley, Hollie Self, Neil Harmer, Stacey Capers and more past winners. We will also have the elite triathletes from around the world competing in the International Triathlon Union Pan American Cup. If you are just a looking for a good run, you can enter in the new 5K or 10K Run Race / Fun Run that will be held on the same courses as the triathlons. What a great way to spend the day and experience the healthy lifestyle.
On July 18th we will present the Alcatraz Challenge Aquathlon and Swim. In the Aquathlon is a 1.5 mile swim from Alcatraz and a 7 mile run across the Golden Gate Bridge. Swim only option is also available.
On August 29th we will have the San Francisco Triathlon at Alcatraz. It will be the inaugural event for Tri-California. There is still some space available so register soon so that you don’t “Miss the Boat”. A race designed for athletes by athletes, you race experience is at the forefront of our all our planning. The race will feature a 1.5 mile swim from Alcatraz, a 25 mile bike ride through the city, along the Pacific Ocean and through Golden Gate Park and a 7 mile run up under the Golden Gate Bridge and up the famous Sand Ladder of Baker Beach.
So come join us as we celebrate “summer in the City”. Give yourself a goal and reason to train. To register go to https://secure.tricalifornia.com/athletes/
