SAN LUIS OBISPO, CA., (April 27, 2009)—Blaine Cotter and Dane Patterson, season 7 contestants on NBC’s “The Biggest Loser: Couples,” will compete in the 27th Annual Avia Wildflower Triathlons Long Course event on Saturday, May 2.
Cotter, a 27-year-old college counselor from Gilbert, AZ and his cousin Dane, a 27-year-old real estate appraiser from Mesa, AZ, were eliminated from the show, but it has not stopped them from continuing to pursue a healthier lifestyle.
Both Blaine and Dane are set to compete in a half ironman triathlon (1.2 Mile Swim, 56, Mile Bike and 13.1 Mile Run) at Lake San Antonio South Shore in Monterey County, CA.
“We are super excited for the event this weekend,” said Cotter. “Dane has been focused on getting the Country Music Marathon completed, but for me, this weekend and the triathlon has been the focus for months. It really is the culminating event. We have lost almost 280 pounds, competed in an Olympic distance triathlon, half marathon, and a full marathon all within the last few months. This triathlon is the final goal before we head back to LA and weigh in for the finale of the show. This weekend is all a part of the new life that we want to live.” The season finale of “The Biggest Loser: Couples” will air Tuesday, May 12 (8-11 p.m. ET/PT) on NBC.
