Tri-California Events and Wounded Warrior Project™ Announce Partnership
Annual Triathlon at Pacific Grove to Benefit Wounded Service Members
Posted: Monday, July 1, 2013
Tri-California Events is pleased to announce a partnership with Wounded Warrior Project™, a nonprofit organization whose mission is to honor and empower wounded warriors. Tri-California’s annual Triathlon at Pacific Grove will feature a 5K or 10K Fun Run--some of the proceeds of which will benefit WWP. The races will take place in Pacific Grove, Calif. on Sept. 13 - 15, with the Fun Run occurring on Sunday, Sept. 15.
Tens of thousands of wounded warriors receive support each year through WWP programs and services designed to nurture the mind and body, and encourage economic empowerment and engagement.
Whether through caregiver retreats, combat stress recovery programs, career and education services, or adaptive sporting opportunities, WWP empowers warriors with the tools essential to not just survive their injuries but to thrive and achieve personal and professional success. This organized event is committed to WWP and the wounded service members WWP proudly serves.
With the help of individuals coming together in their communities, WWP can strive to fulfill their vision to foster the most successful well-adjusted generation of wounded warriors in our nation’s history.
Fun Run participants will run, jog, or walk out and back along scenic Ocean View Boulevard. On Sunday at 7:30 AM, both 5K and 10K runners will begin their race at Lover's Point Park. 5K Runners will make the turnaround adjacent to the 12th green at the Pacific Grove Municipal Golf Links course while the 10K runners will continue onto their turnaround near Asilomar State Beach.
