The San Francisco Giant Race is pleased to announce Tri-California Events as its 2012 Official Race Producer. The veteran producers of large-scale events such as The Wildflower Triathlons, Alcatraz Challenge Swim, and the race course management team for the Nike Women’s Marathon have signed on to help facilitate the rapid growth of The San Francisco Giant Race Half Marathon, 10k, 5k, and FedEx Kids Races & Family Relay. The 2012 San Francisco Giant Race is nearing its second-annual sellout, with limited spots still available in the half marathon, and the exclusive FedEx Kids Race & Family Relay events now on sale.
Finishing on the field of AT&T Park on Sunday, September 16th, 2012, The Giant Race has nearly tripled in size in just two years. “We’re thrilled by our fans’ growing desire to participate in The Giant Race events and by working with Tri-California Events we are doing all that we can to ensure we give as many runners as possible the chance to finish on the field,” Sara Hunt, Senior Director of Giants Enterprises. Added Terry Davis, CEO of Tri-California Events, “This is a great opportunity for us. I grew up in Monterey County and have always been a Giants fan. To be on the team, so to speak, is really cool.”
The FedEx Kids Race & Family Relay offers children ages 4-12 and their families the opportunity to participate in three kids-only age divisions, and one family relay division. The events are built simply for fun, smiles, and to promote a healthy lifestyle through being active. All races take place entirely within the field at AT&T Park and begin at 1pm.
Registration for the half marathon and FedEx Kids Races & Family Relay can be found at www.thegiantrace.com. FedEx volunteers will be out in force for the events, assisting participants in a variety of ways. FedEx has been a supporter of Project Open Hand for many years.
