Avia Wildflower Triathlons Volunteer Information

Thank you for volunteer interest at the Avia Wildflower Triathlons Festival. This is an informational site for general volunteers and organizations.

Nearly 8000 triathletes from around the world will arrive at lake San Antonio with their families for one of the top rated triathlons in the world. It takes over 2000 of the best volunteers to roll out the "red carpet" for this event. We are excited to have your help in producing a great race environment and good time for athletes, spectators and volunteers! If you are a Cal Poly volunteer, please see instructions below.

Shifts:

Volunteers are needed during the following hours: Thursday Noon; 8pm, Friday Noon-8pm, Saturday 6am-6pm, Sunday 6am-3pm. Shifts very in time and location.

Check In:

Volunteers should check in at the Information Tent located in Expo Area 1 of the festival area. There is a map in the program if you are unable to find the check in location.

Bring:

Volunteers should bring sunscreen, water, snacks, dress in layers and be ready for a great time during their shifts.

Area Assignments:

Volunteer duties may include: registration, course marshal, aid stations, transitions or medical tent assistance. Please complete our online volunteer form, and select your volunteer area of interest. In some cases an event staff director will contact you to go over your volunteer duties. If nobody contacts you, it simply means that all your training will be done on site.

Volunteer Passes for front gate entry will be mailed 2 weeks prior to the event. Please be sure to include the correct mailing address on your volunteer registration form, so we can be sure you receive your passes.

Volunteers Receive:

Volunteers will receive an event t-shirt and a meal ticket for each shift they work.

Volunteer Groups:

If you would like to volunteer as an entire group, please do, we would love to have you. Groups are utilized at aid stations as well in key areas where they can work together. Please email us. If you are a Cal Poly volunteer group, please continue reading below.
