Custom designed finisher medals will be awarded to every participant as he or she crosses the finish line at the 2008 AVIA Wildflower Triathlons.

Individual Age Groups and Relay Teams

Special AVIA Wildflower Triathlons plaques will be awarded to the first, second and third place finishers in each division. Fourth and fifth place finishers in each division receive specially designed medals. Finisher medals will also be awarded to all Triathlon finishers. Awards will be presented on the main stage in the Festival Area Saturday afternoon (Mountain Bike and Long Course) and Sunday afternoon (Olympic Distance Event). Awards not received at the ceremonies will be mailed 4-6 weeks after the event.

*USAT rules for "Age Group Division" - After great discussion, the USAT Board voted to use an athlete's age as of Dec. 31 to determine his/her racing age group. If an athlete is due to "age-up" into the next group, it will happen at the beginning of the year, not after the athlete's birthday. This action aligns regular U.S. age group racing with the method used by USA Triathlon for its National Rankings Program and its new Grand Prix Series.

Wildflower Collegiate Championship

The first, second and third place male and female collegiate winners as well as the top five collegiate teams will receive special plaques. Forth and Fifth place male and female finishers will receive medals. Collegiate team scores will be computed by combining the top three male and top three female team members' times.

Elite Cash Prize

Elite Triathletes will be competing for a cash purse of $40,000 Prize money will be distributed to the top ten finishers in both male and female divisions. Cash premiums will be provided by sponsors and will be awarded for the fastest swim time ($400), the leader at the selected bike location ($400), and the leader at the selected run location ($400).
