Lopez Lake, just miles outside of San Luis Obispo is located on the central coast of California mid-way between Los Angeles and San Francisco. Lake Lopez has been home to Scott Tinley's Dirty Adventures for the past five years. With extreme single track trails, steep climbs, and switchbacks, the hills surrounding Lake Lopez area has brought Multi-Sport competitors from big cities and small towns. At the end of a typical California Indian summer, Lopez Lake is surrounded by many tourist activities: cycling, hiking, boating, golf and tennis are just few. In addition, sightseeing at the Pacific Ocean, Hearst Castle, local wineries, and shopping are all within driving distance.
Directions To Lopez Lake:
From South: Take 101 North to Arroyo Grande. Exit Grand Ave. and turn right (east) on Lopez Drive 13 miles. Follow road signs to Lopez Lake.
From North: Take 101 South to San Luis Obispo. Exit Marsh Street and proceed straight (east) on Marsh Street to Broad Street. Turn right (south) on Broad Street (Hwy 227) and proceed to Biddle Ranch Road. Turn left (east) on Biddle Ranch Road and proceed to Orcutt Road. Turn right (south) on Orcutt Road and proceed to Lopez Lake Drive. Turn left (east) on Lopez Drive; 8 miles to lake.
Admission is $7.00 per vehicle or free with a camping reservation. A free one hour pass is available for competitors wishing to register or pick up race packet on Friday afternoon.
Accommodations:
On-Site Camping: The parks department has set aside a number of camp grounds conveniently located near the festival area for our event. Please call the reservation center to reserve the proper site for a tent, motor home or family. Camping sites range from $17 (tent camping) , $21 Electric to $26 (hook ups) per night. Reservations can be made with Lopez Lake Reservation Service at (805) 788-2381.
