Event: 26th Annual AVIA Wildflower Triathlons

Last Date: May 2-4, 2008

Location: Lake San Antonio - Monterey County, California

Races Held at the Event: Long Course (1.2 mile swim, 56 mile bike, 13.1 mile run), Olympic Distance Course (1.5K swim, 40K bike, 10K run), Mountain Bike (.25 mile swim, 9.7 mile bike, 2 mile run)

Number of Participants: 7,500 (each race sells out)

Number of Spectators: approximately 32,000

Number of Vendor Spaces: 95

Additional Activities: Triathlon clinics Thursday - Saturday, several bands play on main stage, evening pasta feeds, packet pick-up on Thursday to Sunday, family style entertainment and youth activity area.

Event best known for: Second largest triathlon in the world, largest sports expo in the industry, 3-day Expo (Friday-Sunday), captive audience of active lifestyle community, Voted best race location by Competitor Magazine.

Event: Accenture Escape From Alcatraz

Last Date: June 8, 2008

Location: Marina Green - San Francisco, California

Races Held at the Event: 1.5 mile swim in the San Francisco Bay, 18 mile bike out the Great Highway, 8 mile run through Golden Gate Park.

Number of Participants: Sells out each year with 1,600 participants.

Number of Spectators: 10,000

Number of Vendor Spaces: 40

Event best known for: Nationally Televised Event, Most unique and challenging triathlon, 2-day Expo.

Event: The Triathlon at Pacific Grove 

Last Date: September 12-14, 2008 (2-day event, Olympic Sat. and Sprint on Sunday)

Location: Lover’s Point, Pacific Grove - Monterey County, California

Races Held at the Event: Olympic Distance, Sprint Distance

Number of Participants: 2,000 (each race sells out)

Number of Spectators: 10,000

Number of Vendor Spaces: 25

Additional Activities: Friday clinics, Friday Carbo Load Pasta Party, afternoon beach Awards Ceremony.

Event best known for: Scenic looped course is spectator and media friendly, beautiful location to take a vacation, ITU Junior Elite event. Escape to Alcatraz Qualifier

Event: Scott Tinley's Adventures

Last Date: October 3-5, 2008

Location: Lopez Lake - San Luis Obispo County, California

Races Held at the Event: Road Triathlons (Olympic Distance and Sprint Distance), Off-road triathlons (one novice, one int. - expert), Tri-Cal Kids Triathlon and hill climb time trial. 

Number of Participants: 600-1,000

Number of Vendor Spaces: 15

Event best known for: Family fun weekend and getting new participants into the sport of triathlon, grassroots style event.

Event: The San Francisco Triathlon at Treasure Island

Last Date: November 7-9, 2008 (2-day event, Olympic Sat. and Sprint on Sunday)

Location: Treasure Island- San Francisco Bay, California

Races Held at the Event: Olympic Distance, Sprint Distance, Youth Triathlon and Elite Olympic Distance Race.

Number of Participants: 2,000 - 3,000

Number of Spectators: Estimated 12,000

Number of Vendor Spaces: 40

Event best known for: ITU Pan American Cup Race.  And we can't forget to mention LOCATION.  You couldn't create a more scenic (Bay Bridge, Golden Gate Bridge, Alcatraz, San Francisco Skyline) course.  It's has a great mix of technical and fast flat areas.  Looped course that is spectator friendly with 3 hot corners to watch the athletes pass by. Culmination of the Tri-California Pro Series and presentations of Pro Series Purse.
